Check surface of neck where cap seats. I must have hit mine sometime ago with the gas pump nozzle. Put a slight dent in seating area and it leaked. Made a thicker rubber seal which helped.

EAB heads are higher compression. Went to install only to find block had been decked during machining. Had to revert to Merc heads as slight interference with valves.

I would like to see a sketch of the wiring for 1 wire alternator to starter solenoid as mine has the floor button starter switch. I take it I am not to use the original wire from the generator?

Why the '40 rear and all that work? I have the stock 34 and '40 backing plates with hyd brakes. It works very well.

I want to spray (rattle can if possible) my gas tank before putting it back in place. Is there a rattle can 'black' that will withstand some gas spillage? Possibly Tractor Supply or similar outlet?

I checked the numbers again:

1932-36 3 bolt coil = 40B

1937-41 2 bolt coil (blk) = 11A

1940-41 2 bolt coil (brn) = 68

Does that sound correct or did someone switch parts in...
