Re: 1972 F100 Shortbed what should i sell it for?
Do your research. The bumpsides are bringing big $$ over most of the country. I sold my 72 LWB a couple months ago for 5000. It was original body wise, very straight but had a good bit of rust. I...

Re: wiper motor question
So....no one knows if a 56 wiper motor will fit into a 55? If the 55 has been converted to 12 volts?

Re: Transmission swap
I have read through this a few times and am still a bit unclear......First off, I don't think you have a 2 spd auto in a 57, unless it was added. I think the 2 spd wasn't introduced until 59, or...

Re: Lincoln ECU Alternate Transmission Options
What is your car? It sounded in your first post, that you had something with an FE. Now are you saying your car is a (big) Y block Lincoln? It would likely be easier to help if we knew what exactly...

Re: Lincoln ECU Alternate Transmission Options
All FE Fords do have the same bolt pattern. No C4 or Aod (factory) will bolt to it. A FMX (no overdrive) is doable if you could find the bell for a FE. No overdrive ever came on an FE automatic....

Re: Another oddball question..mirrors.
I've got a FoMoCo accessory mirror from the 60's. It is square and would require a hole drilled in the door for sure. If you are interested I will try to find a picture for you.

Re: 1966 t bird
Does this guy own the car, and the shop? It would be a long time before I drove that far again to see it. I see some pretty nice driver 65 and 66s here in Fl for 5-6K.

Re: 400M in a 58 Fairlane
The early 400s are great engines and will run like a raped ape. After the first couple years, not so much. I would never put a 351M in an early Galaxie or Fairlane. There are so much better choices...

Re: paint on a 65 comet
In my old fashioned opinion, no. I think your Comet came originally with acrylic enamel, rather than lacquer. I would have it repaired with acrylic enamel. It is harder to do a spot repair but very...

Re: New to 312 Y Block
Agreed. It was not in the same class as any CruisO. They were common in Galaxies with 292's and 223's. I know a few were used on 352's as well, but I have never seen one.

Re: New to 312 Y Block
These should not be confused with a "true " 2 speed Ford O matic that was made from 58 -64. They could be recognized by an aluminum case, and operated much the same as a powerglide. In my opinion,...

Re: New to 312 Y Block
I know. I was basing this on the theory that the trans may have been the original to the motor in the Tbird. In 56 it would had to have been a Ford O. I did not notice that you had positively ID'd...

Re: New to 312 Y Block
If the trans is an original 56, it will be a Ford O Matic. I just wrote about 3 paragraphs on this and when I tried to post, I lost the whole damn thing. Nice car by the way and I love the Y block.

Re: A bumper question for 56's
The 55 272 dual exhaust would also fit the 56, and they all came out under the bumper. As an aside, I have always thought that the 272 was available in the 56 Custom. I had one with a 6 cyl but also...

Re: 1955 ford with a 302 engine
Did you "shave" (true the head to block surface) while it was apart? I had a 390 once that this was the problem on, albeit unusual. Pull each spark plug individually and put air pressure to the...

Re: New Project: 1959 Custom 300
Nice 59 ! My older brother bought a brand new one in 59, that was a 300 had those exact same colors. Car looks identical to what I remember. His was a 292 with 2spd auto though.
