Re: 46 Ford Super Deluxe Door Locks

Re: 46 Ford Super Deluxe Door Locks

Does it have remote control locks? It is someone common to remove the mechanical locks and install solenoids when customizing a car. They also often have a cable backup installed to some hidden...

Re: Oops...

If it is an original sending unit it does not work in a manor that would show a resistance change. It provides a ground path to the gauge and controls the current flow to ground by pulsing a set of...

Re: Engine surging

Non-ethanol fuel should be less prone to vapor lock. Fuel is blended with winter blinds and summer blends. It could be possible that the non-ethanol fuel was still winter blind. The winter blinds...

Re: How to get king pins out?

They should not be tight. If they are hung-up for some reason you may have to resort to a press. I would start with penetrating oil, heat/cooling cycles and pounding around the sides with something...

Re: 35 Ford Cowl Vent Drain Hose

Well, I learned something! This is what happens when you work on the dilapidated bodies I normally see. I didn't realize the drain went through the firewall, thought it was routed over to the side...

Re: 35 Ford Cowl Vent Drain Hose

That is a local purchase item, like an auto parts store. If the hose doesn't go to below the floor level where would it dump?

Re: Brake lights '51 Merc.

Road Island Wiring sells connectors, but not sure they are correct for that late of a model. Sure there are other sources. Not original style, but boating supplies sell a lot of different electrical...

Is there a reason the vacuum reading is that low?

Re: Vapor lock question

Running the amperage an electrical fuel pump requires through the stock ignition switch is not a good idea. It was never designed to carry much of a load.

Re: Vapor lock question

Vapor lock occurs when liquid fuel vaporizes. Many things can contribute to fuel vaporizing. Both heat and pressure come into play. High heat can boil the fuel in the carb float bowl (vaporize it)....

Re: 1936 Sedan brakes conversion

I have used the F1 brakes on 33/34s. The F100 setups are very similar, just different hubs and drums. Fairly easy to adapt the only issue these days is availability of the hubs and backing plates,...

Re: Brake lights '51 Merc.

Not sure how similar the Merc wiring is to the Ford, but see if these help any.

Re: Water pump to motor mounts

19Fordy, I believe the mounting surface on the water pump is at an angle parallel to the crossmember. The crossmember goes down, under the engine and back up the other side. The mount bolts between...
