Ok I went and looked and my stash of parts and only need the three lower plate screws and the wire. Here is the lower plate I have is it still good to use? I thought they were supposed to be nicely...

Unless you are doing the patch the cost would be VERY costly. Plus they/you will have to get the right slope and curve. It might be easier to just get a regular fender.

Just out of curiousity when the car didn't want to run I checked the rotor to dist. body clearances. Anyhow here are the numbers I came up with using my point feeler gauge.

Have you pulled the starter out? It may be that the starter spring broke and locked the ring gear up.
