Re: 1932 Transmission swap
Is the whine in all of the gears or just in the third gear? I experienced a whine in the third gear only and that proved to be an alignment problem. Shimming the flywheel housing to spec solved that...

Re: Model B front end question
And again it took some time to take the next step. Although the Netherlands is not totally locked down, my engine is in Belgium and they are totally locked down. I could not drive anyway so I had...

Re: Model B front end question
Never a dull moment I said. I have now discovered the reason for the bend in the left perch. As you all know the brake actuator is bolted to the perch. If the bolt hole is not in exactly the right...

Re: Model B front end question
Quick update. I have found out that the left perch is bent. The top end has a tighter curve than the right one. This is the cause of the brake actuator sagging. I am now looking for a new spring...

Re: Model B front end question
Thank you, David.
I think I understand what you mean by one drawing. I have once seen a drawing of a model A front spring. Almost the same as the model B but not exactly if I understand...

Shift lever bent?
Hello Barners,
I have disassembled the shift tower of my 32. The ball on the end of the shift lever has flat spots so I have to weld it up. What I don’t know how to interpret is the bend the shift...

Re: Model B front end question
Well, the reason the left brake actuator sat lower and made the lever touch the spring shackle turned out to be rather simple. I finally thought about checking all the bolts. The bolt that attaches...

Re: Model B front end question
Thanks guys,
I will take the front end apart next winter to inspect more closely. I know I have to be very careful if I want to take the spring apart.
I indeed did measure the spring height...

Re: Model B front end question
David, thanks for your reply. I could not find the thickness of the bottom leaf. The 1932 Ford book mentions gauge #5 but you have given me the correct thickness in inches. I have measured my bottom...

Model B front end question
I have noticed some issues with the front end of my 1932 Model B Roadster.
The most important issue is the state of my brakes. The levers sit vertical so I need to repair or even overhaul the...

Re: Two post lift for a 1932?
Thanks guys,
Valuable advice. I was worrying about the "unnerving" bit and rightly so it seems. The "minimal body strength" issue did not cross my mind before but I understand it. I am going for...

Two post lift for a 1932?

I am the proud owner of a 1932 Roadster in the Netherlands. I have just bought a garageunit of 16x33 feet. Plenty of room for a car lift. I would like a two post for the convenience of...

Re: Model A Luggage Trunks?
I have found a pdf with the title "Build Your Own Custom Luggage Trunk" on MAFCA.
http://www.mafca.com/downloads/Technical/
Look for "Trunk Lewis.pdf" about three quarters down.
