It sounds like the light switch isn't in place at the bottom of the steering column .

One of the first things that I learned about driving automobiles was never leave the switch on when the engine isn't running . Its mostly a common sense type thing .

I use friction shocks on some of my model A's and like them . Friction shocks stabilize the ride as well as any in my opinion and are adjustable .

I only use the upper gasket that fits under the filter screen housing . I would only use a gasket under the lower plate if the gears were binding on the lower plate . The thickness of the lower...

i also use steel brake lines to make the gas lines that I use for my dual updraft setups . Copper is easier to bend into shape but steel tubing is more durable .

i tried one of the heat shields and wasn't that much impressed . Needing to loosen two head nuts to install the shield didn't seem to be the best idea . Loosening head nuts runs the risk of losing...

Mine are usually at six oclock when fully closed . Most run good at three oclock after a brief warm up .

With a three OHM coil the ignition will also operate on 12 volt . If a resistor and six volt coil are used , the ignition will be running on a weaker six volts and won't run as well .

Shims are offered to remove end play in the armature shaft , I think that Bratton offers them . I used them when I overhauled my generators and starters .

Just to add , I use the original style 20 amp ammeter with the 12 volt conversion on my model A and have for many years with no problem .

Converting to twelve volts is a VERY SIMPLE procedure . I allow mine to remain positive ground and no wires need to be changed or swapped . The original style wiring system uses large gauge wire...
