I have put current production fuel gauges in two 32’s and on 45 pick up. I had no trouble with the float. I re-drilled the gauge flanges to match the tank holes. Maybe get another float.

The coil mounts to sheet metal bracket mounted with the two forward drivers side intake bolts. I may have one. I sold the car I had one on.

I looked into it a really long time ago. I think the solution was to move the mounting holes so the brushes were vertical. I am not at all sure that was the solution or the only problem.
