Have never seen an Original Engine with out them on either side of the #s from the Factory..

In looking at the pictures shown it has a later Gas Tank, Choke Rod, Instrument Panel, Gas Gauge Etc. Both Clutch and Brake Pedals are also of the later type..As Gary said, the Body is of a later...

If that is the correct Engine # and it is running and has its original frame with the same #, ITS Very Rare..

Tom I have one on each of my 28 cars and have no problems at all..The only difference is when you engage it the sound is louder with a heavy clunk !!..

Ditto Post #2, There are Many Many people at Auto Fea Markets, E-Bay, Yard Sales etc, that will tell you its for a Model A or T.. A lot of them are 100% wrong, Do as Mike says to be safe.. And some...

Very Early Zenith Carb. ??

Is this one considered the Very Early Style Carb. I cant find any pictures of another one with a Z on the back side of it and no marks on the front. The paint on the base section is Original Factory...

In answer to your question about the Bearing being the same: NO that whole system is/was different, including the gear box..

While it is front of you, why not the trans bearings,& pilot..I would also do a rehab on the tower..
