Forum's on Vacation

Perhaps it's just me, (but I don't see how), The Forum has been out for a few days. Actually surprised no one's asked here before this. Any ideas?

Re: Ignition problem

I’m not clear on what you’re saying. Is it that you’re not getting spark at the plug when the engine is running? In that case it might be a worn timer surface causing the contact arm to skip at #1....

Re: Is this radiator worth recoring?

The guys are right. It's really shot. A re-core isn't an answer & will accomplish nothing aside from the fact that I think no rad shop will touch it.

Re: Rear brake lights

Lang's and Snyder's have "period" lights. Anything you buy will have to be converted for LED use.

Re: Valve Cover

Listen. If you simply must pull the head for no reason at least do the following; take a dry/wet compression test. Nothing will indicate the engines condition better than that. Since you seem bent on...

Re: Valve Cover

DO NOT... I repeat DO NOT pull the head!!! There's no reason on earth to do that and it will give you absolutely no answers + cost time and $. First off running with the needle valve closed indicates...

Re: Engines stuck

Try to eliminate some stuff. For instance getting the rear wheels off the ground & making sure its in neutral. Just suggesting because it might not be that the engine's stuck but that a drive line...

Re: Blown Head Gasket

You've pretty much got some good answers. They do seem (sometimes) to just go on their own but there's usually a reason. Good clean surfaces, clean the holes out, (important !), and re-torque after...

Re: Keeping a Model T running

No doubt about it (in my opinion) there's more to keeping a T going than an A. It is a fun car to drive in the right situations but not many of those exist on todays roads with today's drivers. Get...

Re: selling my model Ts

There are a number of free old/collector car selling sites. Just look around a bit. Old Ride .com is one.

Re: MTFCofA forum

First off I'll say I prefer this site to the new MTFCA Forum BUT an update was definitely needed so it is what it is. Getting an avitar was a heck of a problem for me but posting pictures is a breeze...

Re: Just a head up, the Ford Model T Club of America..

The avitar was a bit of a problem as it had to be re-sized however posting pics in topics is a snap as it re-sizes itself apparently.

Re: how many 1908 model Ts exist today?

The correct answer to your question is none because there's no such thing as a 1908 Model T. 1909 to 1927. However Tmodel's info is correct.

Re: Model T ability by era question

As stated performance doesn't differ much. I will say though that at 6' 3" and having had a Tudor & a Touring that there's more room in the open car + the Tudor was a'27 with a cowl tank and I think...

Re: Model T Tool Question

Not every body in this hobby is cool. That wrench is usually under $10 at flea markets here in N.J. Aside from the open end wrenches it is the most common with a few slight variations. It's mostly...

Re: What to do with this old '27 T?

Not a parts car for sure. E-Bay or the other sites classifieds. The car will definitely sell.

Re: Looking at Model T Ford

Touring is probably your best bet (or a runabout 2 seater). Closed cars are tight. I'm 6' 2" and had a '27 Tudor. Just couldn't get comfortable. Maybe it was the up front tank but I sold it & got a...

Re: Axle straightness, from another perspective.

Man I guess it really just depends on the what, where & how much. If spring mounts & camber & toe (and a few other items) aren't affected well that's that. Plus if you didn't check you wouldn't know...

Re: What we learned...Today

100% for adjustable lifters. The reasons seem obvious. My quite old Craftsman valve adjusting wrenches work very well thank you !

Re: Model T as a daily driver

Sorry but Redmodelt has it right. There's a world of difference between the T and the A. The T is basically a wagon with a motor in it and the A is an automobile.
