throttle ROD 'LOOSE

My '40MERC's gas gauge quit recently. Reads nil. Reaching under the dash, I feel no loose wires. No problems in the last 4 years. I don't know if the sender is modern. Tank about 3/4full. Next step...

Whatta mess. I thought the screw had to be completely removed before bleeding. Loss some DOT 5. Stopped and bled it again. Refreshed the MC. Strange system

Up is the correct direction. Try a hammer. there is a rod under the seat across to the over site. maybe it is damaged. look under the seat.

Bleed fittings have slotted round head screw in opening?? They are not tight and will move in either direction? Never seem such.
Restorer had no nipples or design change?

Remove and continue...

When tightening a weeping front brake line, the hose twists. Is there a sliding fitting to prevent this?
