Re: Motor with no serial number

Looks like a 'B' motor, as it has the Fuel Pump casting in the block. The head could be a replacement and dated when it was made. The oil filler tube looks like Model A, as does the Oil Pan.

Re: Cracked Head

Yes, that is a cracked head. It appears that the engine has been dormant for awhile, with the light rusting on the plugs, the head gasket area and around the crack. Stock heads, used are quite...

The vendors sell a head puller that is made by Stipe. I have used one several times now and it works great. It bolts into two spark plug holes and then as it is tightened down by pressing on two...

Re: wedding decoaration ideas

We tied tin cans on the car and drove it around the church parking lot, for the effect and photos, then removed them for driving on the city streets.

Re: Removed engine; some improvements?

If you are removing the water pump, replace the 4-studs with bolts. We use clutch housing-to-flywheel bolts, correct pitch and length. This makes it much easier to replace the water pump on the car...

Bendix Spring bolts

A question comes up periodically at the club meetings regarding the bendix spring bolts. Should they be tight against the spring or slightly loose, with the tabs on the washer keeping the bolts from...

Re: Carb Rebuild

We store the gallon can of carb cleaner in a plastic bucket with the lid on the bucket, but only snug. Haven't had a rusting issue and have the same gallon for several years now. Just put the...

1932 Ford Panel Truck

I'm looking for photos of 1932 Ford Panel trucks. I'm especially interested in seeing the passenger front seat and how it is mounted in the truck. I am aware that the second seat (passenger seat) was...

Re: Restored Nebraska Model "A" Is junk

In Illinois, a few years ago, we had a number of titles revoked by the Secretary of State because the titles had been 'washed' by one of the out of state non-title required businesses. All of the...

Re: Gas Gauge Calibration

To answer the second part of #3, most model A's get something like 18-20 miles per gallon. A little less if only in-town stop and go driving.

Re: 1930 Ford Model A 4Dr (Inherited Don't Know Much - HELP)

As it is not very well cleaned, inside and out, I would say that it is more of a $10-12,000. car. If we knew it runs and stops, I could see a little bit more. Yes, it is a blindback sedan. The...
