it depends ----on a 3 brush with cutout at idle --no , ig engine running fast enough to charge and battery cable removed the voltage can go over 40 volts and if kept that way long enough smoke starts...

Even more is in the 1936 service bulletins, they changed to a fancy drive on rack that worked in degrees, and toe setting that factors in camber, much like modern machines

How much has it been run--- has it been run under load----- is the oil diluted with gasoline from many cold starts...

On mine I just flatten the exhaust, after installing I just finger tightened the 2 bolts enough to flatten the lock washer--- don't think that the heat helps the modern fuel, there's a little gap...

Brush with gunk--- diesel, kerosene, loosen up all the crusty with screwdriver, poke all around water jackets with coathanger. Then go to car wash and start with engine cleaner setting, then hot wash...

what i see is a original A block has a X reinforcement under the stud in the center, diamond blocks have none ---most diamond blocks have exhaust seat inserts

I have 3 of them apart, the pot metal has blisters inside, and the covers are warped to where a new gasket won't seal, and the shaft is worn so it is only tight without gaskets--- got a 4th to take...

first get the shaft through the seal without damaging it---then through speedo hole get bearing in place then push shaft in further, fit thrust washer align speedo drive gear on splines push a little...

You could release the snap ring through the speedometer gear hole—- and it will slide out, but that will just get it apart, to put it together I doubt you could easily get get all the pieces to line...

The oil pump is the main bearing cap---- just the gears are replaced, you would have to measure them to see if the same as American 60hp, the drive gear is hard to find in USA, I have found them but...
