Re: Owning a Model A vs model T

Both are great cars and I own both. The A is way more practical, just jump in and drive it 50 miles. I have to get ready to take the T 50 miles. The car is not unreliable, I just have to pick a...

Re: Anyone received their GAV Deep Socket

I have met the Haags, and in my opinion we are fortunet to have them in the hobby.

Re: UHaul

I used a u-haul to get my roadster home. It worked great. I found it was much less expensive to rent the trailer locally, drive it empty to get the car and then transport the car home. I don't...

Mitchell and 4.11

I have a 4.11 final drive ratio (now I know why it climbs in 3rd so well!:)) and I plan to install a Mitchell OD. Does anyone have any experience with either the 26% or 36% with a 4.11 final drive?...

Re: Ahooga not working

Happened to me just a while ago. I had to clean the commutator. There was a recent article on horn maintenance in the March/April 2015 Restorer is that helps.

1930 Standard Roadster Top Irons

Well, my old faded top has ripped and it is time to replace it. At the same time I need to install different top irons, the ones I have are non-folding and for a roadster pick-up (yep, relatively...

Re: LED tail lights

I just put 6V LED's on mine, they work great, fit perfect and did not require a resistor with a regular flasher BUT I have my "normal bulb" turn signal lights wired into the brakes as well. I am...

Re: Which vendor do you buy from?

I have used quite a few with good luck. Mostly it depends on who has the parts I need in stock at the time. Snyders, Bert's, Mike's, Bratton's, all have worked well for me. I have not used Mac's...

Re: I maybe going to do something I never thought I would do

Dusty, I did a similar thing about 5 years ago. If you are starting up a small farm, it is fun, but it really can take up ALL your time. Especially if it needs fixing up (mine did). By the way,...

Re: Buying a 30 coupe advise needed

Hello Jon, I should first admit that I am no expert, but I am in your neck of the woods and I paid about that for a 30 Roadster that was ready to drive with many new parts (paint is old and I plan to...

Re: How to adjust "toe in" on Model A

I just completed a toe-in adjustment (I had toe-out) with a spring loaded curtain rod I bought at Home Depot. I added a couple short pieces of chain to set the height from the floor. It worked...

Wow, what a great trip. Wish you were headed through our way, I too play traditional music, old time banjo and guitar. I would add to the great safety comments already posted that turn signals...

Re: Top Iron Tragedy

Thanks for all the great suggestions! What makes this repair a little tricky is that the shaft is metal formed around wood. It would not be a big deal to remove the top because it is in rough shape...

Top Iron Tragedy

Has anyone had any experience fixing something like this short of a new top iron kit? The white stuff is just glue from the duct tape I used as an emergency fix to get it home. It is a '28 Phaeton.

Front End Shimmy

The past few weeks (when it has not been raining) my pretty new to me '28 developed a front end shimmy problem. I jacked it up and could not see any looseness in any front end parts when I wiggled...
