Have removed and installed tranny's using only bumper jacks and jack stands (to lift and hold body) just high enough to roll the whole rear assy. on wheels far enough back to give access to tranny...

If the artillery wheels are not wire spoke wheels or don't have any projections on the inner rim, can't see any need for them.

That looks to me to be the rare Triangular-bell horn that was used on several different makes and models of cars, depending on which mounting bracket was used.
