You could always look for another block,talked to a guy in Hershey flea market who had a slew of motors and blocks he was getting rid of,I did not want to drive the 350 miles round trip to pick them...

I put a short extension tube into the rear of the manifold heater so it would hit the firewall,I then traced the circle and cut it out with a dremel,I filed out the final fit for the heater door.

carbon and ceramic seals are no magic bullet,worked on dishwashers for decades that had them,replaced hundreds,they will go in time.I would stick with the stock pump,simple and lasts and lasts!

Easy to make,it is a pipe plug 1/4 in. I believe,drill and tap down the center of plug and insert a screw so you can tighten it against the oil pump.
