correlation is coming to a complete stop before putting into first gear. non synchro trans will grind with out doing this. when are you going to change the trans gear oil? look for metal in bottom...

pull the heads, valves, one at a time and change out to adjustable lifter, use the height of the lifter to preset the adjustable lifters, remember it is easier to back up the lifter than it is to...

I would suggest trying to remove the movable part WITH OUT removing the pet cock from the radiator, it will most likely not come off with out a fight and you could break it loose from the tank. I...

ran my 41 1 1/2 ton truck with the period wheels and changed them out myself, taking them apart with the old tires was the hardest. great look for the truck

rig up a temporary gas can and fill the carb bowl thru the vent, that alone will get gas to it right away

depending upon the year of the shift "tower" you may not have a reverse lock out lever that is pulled up. during ww2 the army had ford remove the lock out lever. we recently had a 4 speed in a 39...

yes, I think it is the same type for 49/51 dual exhaust-kind of strange the different lettering from ca on the same manifold

the one with the fomoco cast into it is an EAB? 52/53? the first one is an after market creation. I will try to get some better pictures.

drill two hole on opposite sides--run a large sheet metal screw in and pry out seal using the alternate holes. always remember the "edge" of the seal goes against the fluid side

pictures? trans/cross member would be helpful. just finished a 49 F1-rust in cab corners/floor and in front and rear fenders-a lot of rust repair or buy new fenders
