heres my 2 cents worth personally i use synthetic gear oils [syntrans and syndrive] these modern oils have improved out of site compared to what was around in the late 30s to early 40s everything...

basically the speedo works the odo works but no trip meter it will turn when you use the reset but dosent work normally the speedo wanders a bit and its not particularly accurate but i can live...

FYI little known fact your average ignition ballast resistor actually takes anything up to 60 seconds to get to full resistance as it requires current flow so it actually supplies line voltage...

if you run dual voltage your asking for trouble either run 6v or 12v these days you can buy reliable 6 volt gear and leds will generaly run between 6/36v and in the long term are a better buy

fuse or breaker it dosent matter which, but you need to protect the system remember the fuse always goes as close to the power supply [battery] as possible the smallest short unprotected could burn...

hey shoebox dont know about a rear bar but i fitted a pete and jakes front bar backed the front shocks off to a 1/4 took the rears up to 5/8 boy did that make a differance im still running...
