Re: Cut Out Issues?

You should be good to go with a new cut-out, providing no damage was done to the Genny when it was so hot. Fortunately cut-outs aren't very expensive but you Probably have to order one from one of...

Re: Tachometer for my model A

I recently bought and returned an electronic voltmeter from Harbor Freight that was supposed to be able to register engine RPM. Supposedly, either from clipping the probe to the coil or using the...

Re: Strange Noise - Need Help to ID

Also, maybe not your problem, but I had another noise yesterday. I went to a car show 30 miles away. When I was almost home there arose such a clatter. I sprang from the car to see what was the...

Re: Strange Noise - Need Help to ID

This is probably not your issue, but I recently had one that drove me nuts.

Driving around and as I accelerate there was a definite bang coming from the rear of the car. Decelerating and...

Re: Help - My A is barely running

I would definitely check the manifold gasket. The exhaust and intake gaskets are connected and the two manifolds come off at the same time. Check nuts/bolts, to make sure one or more haven't worked...

Re: Please try to be specific in your title

I use the search feature all the time, and it has really been a benefit. I always start as an advanced search and look at the titles only in the Model A forum. If I don't find it there on that...

Re: Ammeter gets hot

You definitely want to clean the connections if they are corroded and tighten the nuts. Also check for bad crimp-on connectors. The fact that it is hot points more to the connections than to the...

Re: Restoration Guidelines

I noticed the bungy cord for the battery too. Nice touch. Really adds value in my opinion.

Re: Shell doesn't fit crank

Maybe the top of the shell around the radiator neck is not pushed down enough.

Re: light switch schematic

For post #7, this should help. You should know that the light switch part of the Model B was the same as the A. Here is a link you may be interested in. I knew the link existed, but to find it, I...

Re: Different strokes for different folks

Purist is a relative term. I just like working on my Model A.

I don't think anyone is going to gain a skill by watching Youtube. I have used it many times to lead me to some elusive task, like...

Re: Flathead Ted brakes

I have a set ready to install. Everything I have read says to eliminate the top long spring as it defeats the self actualizing feature if used. I have no opinion on them since I jut got them and...

Re: Telling someone to check the Judging Standards

I agree too. If we want to encourage younger folks to participate, lets just answer the question. No harm in that. If you don't want to answer the question, then why be snarky and say that it's...

Re: Light switch fix

Besides the horn contact that is addressed in this link, there are two other issues that I am aware of that at least two of the suppliers are dealing with:

(1) the plastic base is a little too...

Re: Child Safety

It's something to consider for sure. I am really considering getting seat belts for all seats of the Tudor. Even though most of my driving is very localized and not freeway driving, I still think...

Re: Brake Light switch

Maybe there would be more eggspertice on the later Ford forum, but whether it is a mechanical switch or a pressure switch, an open circuit is still an open circuit, and the lights should not light...
