Tubman has got a good idea. I run the stock load a matic & it works fine with the stock carb. Isky cam & Offy heads. 51 Merc's sugestion is on the mark too.

I'm in norhtern Ohio & run 180 stats in my 52 Victoria with an 8BA. Even on the hottest days it runs 180-190 degrees & performs well.

I know of several carburetored cars including my 52 Vic that have a real problem .

If you are still running the stock dizzy, make sure the vac advance is working properly too.
