Winter Storage

This is not about storing my car but, about what everyone who lives in the cold north like I do does with all their cans of pressurised products. Like brake clean, WD-40, carb cleaner, etc. I have...

Re: Potvin cam specs

I have a Potvin cam in my 8-BA and it's marked 415 on the end. No one has been able to give me any specs on it. All I can say is it's a strong running cam in my 286 CI flathead.

Re: Clutch Help

Are you saying everything is there except the clutch disc and pressure plate? The truck could have an 11 inch clutch and you should probably use a 9-1/2 or 10 inch clutch. Where are you located? Any...

Re: '50 Ford hood release question

The spring is adjustable in length. There should be slot in the part that goes into the locking mechanism that you can turn with a screwdriver. Can't remember if there is a locking nut on the other...

Re: No oil pressure [8BA]

Check the gear on the back of the cam shaft. I had one come loose and no oil pressure. Had to pull the cam and have the gear drilled and a pin put in. Rare occurance but it does happen.

Re: Heater Control Valve & Hose Connections.

Thanks to all who replied. I think I have it figured out now. Differences between 49 and 50 had me confused. Thanks Toby for the PDF file.

Re: Limited slip diff.

Also the 8 inch rear had limited slip. I think a slang term for them was a POSI. I'm looking for one but most are quite expensive.

Re: Howard Cam

Thanks flatjack9 and Paul Bennett. It's quite lumpy and runs strong in a 286 CI flathead. I got it from Mark Kirby (motor city flathead) several years ago.

Re: How to get crankshaft dowell pin on a 59ab back in place

First question, why was the flywheel removed? Re surface, new clutch & pressure plate, etc. If none of these, just put it back on and tighten down the bolts using the cross method like doing lug...
