Re: Suspicious Threads?

M2M,

Why don’t you post all those photos in one thread instead of separately so we don’t have to wade through all the separate posts. Those that want to see photos can do so and those who don’t...

Re: Smooth Shifting The Model A

John,

I suspect you've never been to Arizona in Summer! We never go to the Coachella Valley in Summer when the average temperature is over 100 degrees for three straight months.

Re: Smooth Shifting The Model A

Floats,

I agree completely with your analysis. Some people down shift in order to use the engine to help slow down the car. The faster the car is going the higher you have to rev the engine to...

Sorry, I gave his break adjustments by mistake. Here is the timing.

Try this....

PURDY'S WAY:

The timing instructions that I've seen are very confusing to the unknowing. One of the highly...

Re: Timing

I agree with using Purdy's method; however, it's easier for me to follow when the procedure is broken up as follows:

Purdy Swoft's brake Adjustment Procedure:

Here is how I adjust mine:

Re: New to Ford Model A

Welcome to the Barn. Nice looking ROADSTER AA! Cutting off the roofs of trucks was pretty common when we had orange groves in So. cal. They would put tanks on the back to spray insecticides.

Re: I Drive A PicUp

i think that goes for most Model A's. Sort of like air cooled rear engined VW's in general and VW Vans in particular.

Don't drive any of them in Florida in a hurricane. In California, don't drive...

Re: Transmission dipstick kit

Hey Bob,

I like your gearshift nob. It looks like it's an antique door knob. I grew up in the '40's and '50's in a house that was built in the late 1890's or early 1900's. All our doors had that...

Re: starting my A tool collection

Thanks for the information Don. I have three grease guns, two have Alemite Corp. on the barrel and one looks newer and has nothing on the barrel. They are all clogged so I'll try to clean them out. ...

I've bought several grease guns at Swap meets but none of them work. Do any of the suppliers sell rebuild kits?

Would have been a good idea to back flush it since you didn't know the history of the radiator.

Lefthander30,

Wouldn't it be simpler to wear work shoes, which have more support, instead of tennis shoes?

Re: 6V to 12V conversion

I have a 1966 Porsche 912 (4 cylinder) that is 6 volts. The first year for the 911 (6 cylinder) was 1966 as well but I'm not sure if it's 6 or 12 volts.
