Re: difficult hood latch

Yes, something is not right. Is the hood too tight? If so look at the latching area (grille bar and hood latch). If the hood is snug, look at the locking mechanism. The 41 hood handle is...

One should get the Early Ford V8s 38-39 reference book. It has an extensive explanation of the different heaters and their component locations, mentioning that most were dealer installed. For the...

Re: steering gear adjust

If you think the cross shaft (or something is worn), jack up one side and grab the wheel and see how much play there is. If not noticeable, it may be just poor front end alignment. It could be the...

Re: 35 Panel delivery, is this a stock weld?

On a 33/34 car, the roof was not one stamping. The front cowl ended about where your weld is. But on the 33, it was leaded together. Looks like on the 35 they went to welding the front and back...

Re: Too much radiator pressure

You need to determine where the leakage is. Put on an overflow jar, even temporarily, to see if the radiator is overflowing. If it is, the radiator cannot handle the water from the engine pumps,...

Re: First 100 Miles!!! Or a touch more. My '39 Pickup

Gary, just kidding but it doesn't look used without some dings in the grille stainless. Hope to see it at the Jefferson car show next year.

Re: 32 V8 transmission gears

It doesn't go together easily. The rear thrust washer has a larger diameter than the 32 style so the cluster does not drop down to get the input shaft in. Also the front of the cluster is wider...

Re: Front Wheel Cylinders

Old is not necessarily good when it comes to rubber. I bought some fan belts from Rock Auto for my modern 77 Dodge pickup. The power steering lasted one year while the generator lasted 2 years. ...

Re: Best rear axle ratio?

If your choice is 3.54 or 3.2, go with 3.54 as the larger than stock tire size reduces the ratio below 3.54 and 3.2 with 600 x 16 tires is not great in hilly conditions.
