If it has an inspection plate take a look to see what is going on inside when someone depresses the clutch.

You may have replacement glass with a more narrow thickness.

The lower shaft should be separate of the top shaft, 2 piece shaft. Maybe the old shaft is rusted in place.

Your chrome reflectors can be recoated with aluminum by UVIRA, look them up. The original reflecting coating was silver.

I have cleaned the dial on one of mine that I thought was a goner with WD-40 on a soft rag, used very gently. Don't spray WD-40 on pot metal ever as it will cause old stuff to swell for some reason.

Just use good oil and keep it clean. Also keep the clearances within tolerance. Babbit is used on many insert bearings as well as in jet engine fans.

Cast iron pistons were produced to fit many makes of cars so they may just be replacements for whatever reason.

That is correct kind of. The spacers stop the nut from over tightening.

It would be hard to over tighten the motor mounts if using the proper hardware with spacers as done by the factory.

I have used a bottle hydraulic jack and a piece of 4x4 to spread the frame.
