There were some threads about these a while back I thin, mostly negative. I believe they are not re-buildable and there were other problems.

Maybe you rotated the column TOO far and are on putting pressure on the cap causing it to "rock".

BEFORE you remove the starter, "bang" it with a hammer. Might free it up. JMO and has worked for me.

Don't know how we got to replacing shocks when the OP is talking about worn tubular links??


Parts are readily available to rebuild your links or whole new assemblies.
