Re: 1940 mercury floor mats or carpet

I’m thinking that Joe’s Antique sells a black mat that is uncut, don’t recall what year though. Maybe it’s for a 1940 truck?

Re: 4 post lift

I just went through all this. It only took me 8 months to make a choice. I looked at most brands, talked to everyone that sold them within 250 miles and even paid a small REshipping fee to send the...

Misery loves company

I’ve been in my shop looking for a part that I set aside so I would know where it was when I needed it. I’ve looked everywhere and had no luck. Are there any other folks out there that have to buy a...

Re: 1936 Truck restoration

Thanks so much Jeff! I noticed when I was looking through this that I really didn’t post many pictures of it completed so I’m going to try to do that soon.

Re: 4 post lifts

So I’m going to add another question to this and it’s around the power source. I ordered the caster kit that allows me to move the lift around so it made sense to get the 120v so if I moved it to...

Re: Engine Steady Rods

I received a set of the brackets from Mark that work well. When I go to put the engine steady rod in I’m about 1/8 of an inch away from being able to get the bolt in through the frame. I thought...

Mercury lights

Have 2 questions around the lights on my Mercury, 12 volt.

1). Should the running lights, lights on top
of the fenders, be on when my headlights are on?
*Currently they come on when the switch...

Re: Hard to Down Shift 3rd to 2nd

My experience with Mac V has been fantastic! He was great to help me through the couple of adjustment issues I had with my transmission after he rebuilt mine. I would just call him up and tell him...

Re: Early V8 Fasteners

When I rebuilt my truck I bought most all of my fasteners from Roy Nacewitz. I spent more then I would have at a hardware store but was really happy with the fasteners and the resource Roy was...

Re: Engine Steady Rods

Thanks again to everyone that chimed in. I’ve talked to Mark and he is sending me some brackets and someone here on the barn offered to give me a set of rods so I’m in great shape!

Re: Headbolt

What do you torque the bolts when re torquing the heads? Would re torquing potentially stop the leak?

Re: Engine Steady Rods

When I 1st looked at these this morning it appeared that they would not work because I don't have a hole to put them through. After looking again it appears there is a bracket with the rods that bolt...

Headbolt

Sorry I have so many questions, this is #2 for the day! I started up the truck this morning and noticed 3 head bolts that seem to have leaked, just a little tiny bit. Of the 3 1 of them does not seem...

Re: Engine Steady Rods

I believe those are the rods, or something like what I need. The engine is in the truck and I’m not interested in pulling it out. It appears that I don’t have any holes there, that don’t already have...

I’m doing a bit of research I’ve learned that my 36 truck would have had engine steady rods connecting the bell housing to the frame to keep it from moving. I have an 8BA in the 36 and understand...
