Re: Vintage clock repair ?

Sounds like you've already wound it. Don't overwind it and break the mainspring. I'm assuming that it ticks a few seconds and then stops when you wiggle the clock a little to "jump start" the...

Re: Will I fit in a Roadster??

Damn it! Looks like there is going to have to be less of me by the time I get the car on the road. Guess it's salad tonight.

Re: Where to put Tools for the Tudor

Like that style bag. HD has them on sale cheap occasionally too. Use them for tools, fishing tackle, camera crap, random orbital buffer and pads, all kinds of stuff.

Re: Preservation vs Restoration

Not really a direct answer to the question asked but....

One of my favorite cars is a 65 fuel injected corvette an acquaintance owns. He bought it in 68 and has driven it once a week to work...

Re: 1928 AR hand brake lever problem

I think I smell pancakes in that picture.

Hey, that's a great link in your signature. Had not seen that site before. I bookmarked it twice for awesomeness.

Re: Insurance

Yup, Same here. Switched from Haggerty a few years ago. Adam at the Corvette museum is a great guy and easy to work with.

Re: towing a chassis

Thank you for the replies.

Spent some time on the phone with AAA and a couple of tow truck companies. While it's not something they do everyday, it's not unusual for them to use a flat bed...

Re: Brake floaters?

Thank you for all the replies. I've learned a lot.

I'm still getting orientated on this project. Haven't had much time to mess with it yet. I do need to move this almost rolling chassis to...

Re: Brake floaters?

Thank you for the replies. I feel better that it's not home made. The drums are new and the car is not on the road at this time. Certainly something to keep in mind though.

Brake floaters?

Anyone know anything about or have any thoughts on these? I've been poking around the internet and have not seen any similar. But, maybe I have not looked hard enough.

The spring left me...

Re: New guy with a crusty, rusty, 1930 A

That car must have really done something awful to those chickens for them to have ripped it apart like that. That looks like the work of some really angry chickens.

Re: Ideas to protect a new cement floor

Love that look. A friend did that some years ago. Unfortunately he passed not too long after.

That post is a couple years old now. How has the floor held up? How's the maintenance?

The...

Re: Measuring axel and hub wear

Sorry for the delay. Yes, I was viewing the fit of the cotter pin in relation to the castle nut to be a potential sign of wear. It could very well be the wrong nut.

Brent, I appreciate the...

Measuring axel and hub wear

I suspect I have a wear issue. I've not pulled the drums/hubs yet. Is there a a way to determine if the axel, hub, or both are worn.

I have new cast drums. I had planned to reuse the hubs...

Re: Inherrited restoration project

I believe the tank is original. Not sure why I didn't take pictures of that. Might be because it's in the middle of the room rather than tucked between the trusses. I'll probably be in nor cal...
