I have the 1/2 13 tap if you need to borrow it. It is available from multiple on line sources if you are still trying to buy one.

Re: Fred Meyers has passed away

Fred will be missed by many as a kind and knowledgeable car guy always ready to help others. His '32s were great cars and he was a kind resource guy for the EFV8 club here in San Diego.

Re: Valve insert exhaust??

Thank You Brent for your explanation. Would you please give me your read on Gary's picture 2 above. What was peined, the seat or the block. The outermost circle looks too clean to be the peined edge.

Re: New car

My '29 OCPU is tight and a bear to get in and out of, mostly because I don't step on the running board. Getting that left foot out can be a chore. Great little car for short trips, but I would never...

Re: Valve insert exhaust??

OK, I can accept that something is peined, but looks like the seat is peined outward. Still not a big deal, but I would sure like to learn more about the technique and the tool.

Re: Valve insert exhaust??

Looks to be a valve seat in a seat. Odd, but clearly been there a long time. I wouldn't worry about it, unless the interior seat can't be sufficiently dressed. Then I'd pull it all out and start over.

Re: Knowing the amount of oil in your engine...

Am I hearing correctly? The Bayonet is the long looped stick. My stick has a circular top with an "L" at the bottom, about 1 1/4" above is the "F" about a 1/4" above the "F" is the scribed line. Ive...

Re: Bumper Irons on Rear of OCPU

Hank, I'd like that photo if you have one please.

Beginning to get the idea how to approach this.

30 Closed Cab PU, like your first photo.

Seems like everyone does it differently.

Re: 1950 8RT Flywheel Refacing

Ditto, don't worry, it does not become an issue. You won't cut more than what final clutch adjustment compensates for.

Not an issue with single plane flywheels.

Re: Bumper Irons on Rear of OCPU

Carl, I don't have another A to see those front two mounts. Could you describe where they are on the frame. Your 30/31 frame probably has the same holes as my 28/29.

30 Closed Cab PU, you went out of your way to help, and I really appreciate that. I'll get it figured out.

Re: Bumper Irons on Rear of OCPU

Since I plan on no hitch, the outer end of the irons will be quite simple. What baffles me is the three mounting points native to the irons. I would like to use as much of the original fastening...

Re: Bumper Irons on Rear of OCPU

I could use some better shots. I need to see the route the irons take, and to where on the frame they bolt.
Do your irons look like they extended?

Re: Left Ignition On, Now Won't Turn Over
