Re: 1929 tailpipe clamp picture

Bolted to lower inside frame rail in hole provided. There were two different clamps as shown. Bob Bidonde did this illustration in the Judging Standards.

Re: Warford Information

Dave: You do very meticulous work! Great project. My 29 AA also also cruises at about 29 MPH. I thought I had the low speed rear end, but apparently not. Happy discovery. Thanks for all the...

Re: Rear “C pillar” 31 Tudor

OK, now we the problem. Since that area will be covered by the back seat, I would weld/fabricate the base of your C-pillar and rivet to the subframe.

Re: metal valve stems. How tight?

I echo Gary. This summer I installed an original set of metal valve stems on a 29 AA truck. In order to keep them from leaking, I had to tighten that bridge nut as tight as I could get while...

Re: Rear “C pillar” 31 Tudor

I don't know what a C pillar is on a Tudor. If the door hinge post is the A pillar, the door latching post the B pillar, then where is the C pillar?

Re: Taillight bulbs

Devil's advocate here. We live in a low traffic rural area and never drive at night, so have never installed turns signals on a Model A. So, do other drivers notice a Model A? You bet!
In fact...

Re: Roadster Top Irons Bows help!

Most of the parts you show in your photos are Model T Touring top irons. Your last photo has promise, but is different from 28-9 top irons that I have seen, including where it mounts to the...

Re: Best way to tie down the top of a 1929 Phaeton

Synchro: I like your way of fastening your Phaeton top to the back of the body better than our way. We Americans can be a bit provincial when it comes to matters such as this, but in the spirit of...

Re: Best way to tie down the top of a 1929 Phaeton

Synchro 909: According to John Charlton, American Phaetons are tacked permanently to the rear tack rail like mine is, while others are not. I didn't know that. I am curious as to how the top on...

Re: Juice brakes

I recently acquired a Model A already equipped with juice brakes. It's got 39-48 Ford brakes and front spindles. Model A spindles don't fit the later backing plates. I haven't gotten around to...

Re: 1929 front crossmember

Yes. You will need to find a 29 cross member that has been taken from an original frame. The 29 front cross member will have slightly raised mounts for the radiator. The 30-31 cross member will...

Re: The Ace Mechanic Again

Davey. I laughed until I cried. I've done that stuff myself, push it to go and then try to jump in and control the beast. Lucky it was a roadster with vinyl seat cushions. The blood will be easy...

Re: Original ‘28 Radiator overflow location?

This is an original 28 radiator, but I can't guarantee the overflow hasn't been tweaked in the last 92 years.

Re: 1930 Fuel Bowl Leak

The fuel line should no extend more than about an eighth of an inch past the ferule. If it does, the fuel line itself could be pushing into the fuel bowl and interfering with tightening the ferule.

Here's a 29 with outside door handles. Whether or not this truck originally came with outside handles is anyone's guess. When I restored my 28 Phaeton...
