Re: 34 pickup wood question

All of the wood under this '32 bed is original and is oak. I think Ford used hard woods indigenous to the area around Iron Mountain, MI interchangeably as available drawing the line at station wagon...

Re: Upcoming Auction, Some nice V8 Ford's

They were basically standard models with rumble seats as standard equipment (which were optional on standard coupes). Also unlike their standard coupe counterparts, safety glass all around was...

Maple or Ash for the cab mounting blocks and oak for underneath the bed.

Re: Lowering 32 roadster top

Leave the rear curtain attached when lowering the top.

Hopefully you have the two original rubber bumpers on the upper back panel on which the rear window rests when the top is down.

Re: Lowering 32 roadster top

There were no top folding instructions included with the Ford open cars until the '35 model year. When you fold a '32 roadster top you need to pull and fold the top material all the way back so that...

Re: Upcoming Auction, Some nice V8 Ford's

And it appears to still have its original landau irons, which often are long gone.

Re: Afred E Neuman is back !

Speaking of lookalikes on British TV, in the last season of "Line of Duty" currently on Netflix, one of the cast members is the female clone of Ralphie from "A Christmas Story" right down to the...

Re: 1932 Medium Maroon

The original color is slightly muddy, unlike the '36 light fast maroon and the '40 Mandarin maroon. The latter two likely avoid the brown tone by being produced with a bit of gold. (in paint and...

Re: Where does a 32 dome light hook into harness

It serves both on an early four that has no dash light switch.

Re: Where does a 32 dome light hook into harness

It's the same as an early V8. If you have the early B wiring harness there should be a black wire with a blue tracer coming out of the harness to connect to the long wire of the same colors coming...

Re: Model B Fuel Pump HYGRADE fp-159

There's nothing rare about '32-'34 four-cylinder fuel pumps except in the minds of some sellers. They are simple to rebuild, but it sounds like you need a different interface between the diaphragm...

Re: Rear frame horn cover and more !!!!!

Sheldon,

Those with no wire hole on the right side obviously came from LHD cars, but the presence of the hole on the right side could also mean that it came from a LHD car with two tail lamps. A...

Re: Rear frame horn cover and more !!!!!

Keith,

Thanks for the photos.

In all three of your examples, they appear to be of somewhat early production in that there are only round holes where the covers attach to the rear fenders. ...

Re: re 34 Cabriolet Sun Visors

I believe that your previous impression is correct. There is no listing in the '34 body parts catalog for sun visors for a cabriolet nor do they appear among the ten or so Ford archives photos that...

Re: Rear frame horn cover and more !!!!!

David,

Be fair, anyone looking at the reproduction LHD step pad brackets might easily assume that they were originally castings rather than forgings.

Sheldon,

The frame horn cover that...

Re: 1932 K Member

Tim,

They weren't discarded, the legs were added with rivets in plant and at dealers via a service campaign (recall) with rivets if the dealer had the capability or if not, with bolts, etc. In...

Re: floor board

There was a cover that rotated to provide access to the hole on the '32 #1 floorboard (except in very early production), but it was phased out late in the model year, presumably as a cost savings. ...

Re: 1932 K Member

There's no engine-based difference in '32 center cross members. Where that idea may arisen is from the fact that the center cross member changed numerous times during the '32 model year. Initially,...

Re: Correct carb for 33-34 pickup

Given the two you list, I assume that you are referring to the carburetor on a four-cylinder engine. If that's the case, it was a Zenith.

Re: Do 33-34 pickup trucks have rear view mirrors?

They all had an outside mirror attached to the upper door hinge, same as the '32s. There was no inside mirror, just like the station wagons.
