It is cheaper to replace smaller glass on one side than whole windshield. UPS and large trucks have done this for years.

I laced a black leather cover on mine, not the wrap around junk from Walmart but a good leather cover that laces to the inside. It was not cheap but looks good, feels good and keeps everything clean.
