Re: Here's to BUBBA aka Jim Lindner

I'll chime in here although what I have to say echos a lot of the previous posts.

Jim has done a couple of helmet distributors for me in the past. Both were done quickly and were quite reasonably...

Re: For those that have recommended Williamson's Instruments

My experience was somewhat better than yours, but my god is this guy a pain in the ass to deal with.

I had a Sun "football" tach that I wanted to have rebuilt and have modern electronics installed...

Re: Engine misses when hot

I had a similar issue I was able to solve simply, but I'm not sure you can adopt my solution. I'm running a helmet dizzy but with an adapter for an external coil. I simply moved the coil bracket to...

Re: What I do on my "lunch hours"...

Gorgeous as usual. The reflections visible in the paint on the gas tank (and Columbia!) are pretty impressive.

A few years ago Mike was doing a 39 wagon. He happened to be hosting a party a...

Edmunds Intake Question

Hi-

I posted this over on the HAMB but no replies, maybe someone here can help.

I'm running an old Edmunds intake with 2x 97s. I know this intake doesn't feed into a common plenum. Before I...

Re: Rebuilding

Hey Ken, I have a couple of questions about your rebuilt carburetors. Do you always replace the throttle shaft and bushings or is it a case by case things? What style needle and seat do you use? ...

Re: 1940 wheel pin stripe color

Sometimes a guy's perception of himself is far different that how the rest of the world sees him. The good news is that it's often pretty darn funny.

Case in point-...

Re: What I Do on MY "lunch hours"

Hey Vic-
I find your "the way Henry intended" comment a bit ironic. The goal of Kube, or any other true restorer, is to have a car that exactly resembles "what Henry intended". A car assembled...

Re: What I Did on My Lunch Hour

Hey Vic, the conditions for my departure have not been met yet so don't panic. And please, oh wise one, explain how, with my one post , you know I am "infatuated" with a movie. Now is your time to...

Re: What I Did on My Lunch Hour

Hey KiWinUS-

If you put up one post that exhibits half the intelligence of Kube or myself I will disappear from this thread. (No Vic, you can't help him.)

The "Deliverance" Kube was referring...

Re: What I Did on My Lunch Hour

In case there's still any confusion of what replies are and are not sarcasm, I'm real sure that V8COOPMAN was not being sarcastic.

Also, you need to check your facts regarding your E-type. The...

Re: What I Did on My Lunch Hour

Sarcasm is defined in The Oxford Universal Dictionary, published in 1933, as "a sharp, bitter, or cutting expression or remark; a bitter gibe or taunt." More contemporary definitions often...

Bob,
I was wondering why you had chosen not to respond to any of the questions posed in this or the other very similar thread here on the Barn. I then noticed you edited your earlier response....

Re: Hey Bob Darke... I did call for a return this time.

AV8 raises a great point. Why reproduce a part that does not fit?

Especially in the case of a molded part with an incorrect contour. No doubt the first part out of that mold had the same shape...

Re: More reproduction cr-p

I think Kube hit the nail on the head, it's about truth in advertising. Don't say a part is "as original" if you know it isn't.

Hey Bob, if you think those 1937-1938 seals where put in a 1939...

Re: Hey Bob Darke... I did call for a return this time.

A couple of weeks ago I purchased some sparkplugs from a guy on ebay. They were a flush gap style plug so the gap is set and not adjustable. I asked the seller what the gap measured and he told me...

OK Bob, care to speculate on which part of your quality program failed in Fourdy's case or do you think he ordered the wrong part also?

And to show that this is not just a Bob Drake problem, the...

Wow. Thanks Ol' Ron. I never thought about that. I was nervous when I put the heads on because the motor had always cranked kind of slow (6v). I replaced cables and cleaned connections and was...

Re: Detonation Question

Jeez Bubba, I just sent it out Saturday. I figured I'd have a couple days of down time so I pulled some rotten wiring harness out. I guess I better not waste time getting the new one in.

Can't...
