Re: 30 ROADSTER -A hot rod in 1956 - Time for a refersh in 2012

Karl,

You could be right. Since you read the whole thread, I'm sure you saw that this roadster started as a basket case/Frankenstein project. It wouldn't surprise me at all if even the original...

Ford Script Flatbed (the actual bed) - ID Needed

Hello All:

I recently acquired an OT farm truck (1947 Dodge 1.5-Ton) from my wife's family that has a...

Simply amazing -- bet it hasn't looked this good, since it was first cut-up in the '50s.

Re: 1930 Frame - Front Cross Member - Screw/Bolted-In - Old Repair or What?

Here's another frame I have -- this one is a 1931 from a Model A Coupe. It also has the front cross-member bolted in by a previous owner. (see attached photos).

This repair looks like it was done...

Re: 1930 Frame - Front Cross Member - Screw/Bolted-In - Old Repair or What?

Here's what it looks like from underneith (see attached photo). It's the underside of the passenger's side.

I'm not sure what size bolts were used -- but they definitely look weathered. ...which...

Re: 1930 Frame - Front Cross Member - Screw/Bolted-In - Old Repair or What?

Here's a couple more photos (see attached). I'm starting to get curious about what the bolts look like too (not enough to remove one yet), because they sit flush in the top of the frame rail. I'm...

Re: 1930 Frame - Front Cross Member - Screw/Bolted-In - Old Repair or What?

Thanks -- I'll check. I believe my frame dates from May of '30, so I'm thinking it's not a transitional frame -- but, still worth checking, to see what replacement cross-member was used (assuming it...
