Re: Generator vs Alternator
I have an alternator that looks like a generator complete with a cutout just for show.
The alternator is inside a model A generator housing. Made by Russ Evans. A little pricey but well worth it.

Re: Pinion assembly installation
Larry,
Thanks for the information. I was not going to use this housing. I have a 31 rear end I was going to put the overdrive in. I appreciate the information, I didn’t know that.

Re: Pinion assembly installation
I will need to press this pinion assembly back into the banjo.
Does anyone have an old torque tube I could buy the flange off of?

Re: Pinion assembly installation
Tom,
I guess I got that one wrong. The overdrive is positioned 4.5” towards the front of the car so the stub shaft is longer.
I still like the idea of a torque tube flange to do the job. So far it...

Re: Pinion assembly installation
Stub shaft won’t be very long as this is in a Victoria and will be very close to the rear end.
I think I will have to use all threads and nuts to draw the pinion in because the threads are very...

Re: Pinion assembly installation
Thanks redmodelt but all I am doing is changing the driveshaft to install a Mitchell OD.
I don’t want to disturb the pre load. All I want to do is mount the pinion assembly on the stub shaft and...

Pinion assembly installation
Does anyone have an old torque tube flange I could purchase to press in a pinion assembly? Picture below I borrowed from Tom Endy.

Mitchell OD in a Victoria
Has anyone tried to install a regular Mitchell Overdrive in a 30-31 Victoria?
I understand that on the Victoria's they move the gear box forward 4.5 inches to clear the floorboard. I have a regular...

Re: rich little
Is Rich Little still around? I used to love watching him do impersonations as a kid.
Especially Archie and Edith Bunker.

Re: Transmission Shift Fork Pins
Russ,
I did the same thing.
I took a dermal tool and made a groove on the opposite side of the split in the pin for the safety wire to lie in.

Victoria Rear Seat Back
On a 31 Victoria rear seat, is it supposed to hinge forward to reveal a small storage space? If so, are there supposed to be cutouts in the sides of the seat back so it will clear the armrests?

Re: Horn Problem
I have adjusted the horn and lubricated it.
I have an alternator that is in a generator case. You can't tell it is an alternator.
I may put it on and try it.

Horn Problem
My horn blows just fine with car running or off. When I turn the lights on or hit the brake it just growls. Do I have a problem with my generator?
