Re: Ford Willow Run documentary

Every student studying engineering should watch that documentary
and then say,
THANK YOU".

Re: Fan shaft / bearing assembly

Suggest you upgrade before these pulleys are no longer manufactured due to lack of demand as the old car market changes. Plus , remember 70 years of flexing can cause old steel fan blades to crack...

Re: Fan shaft / bearing assembly

Here's a thread dealing with this that you must read. As a side note, I made my own fan hub pulley in 1999 before DRAKE came out with his version. I would recommend replacing the old with the new...

Re: Split Lock Washers On Main Bearing Caps Of Flathead Motor

Re: do i scrap this or not? 49 merc front bumper pan

Advertise it on Fordbarn, HAMB. It will sell. Shipping will probably cost more than the part but, if someone needs it, it's worth the price. Any 49-51 Merc sheet metal is valuable and rare.

Re: Seat springs: paint or no?

Paint them. Even if each has its own burlap bag like 40 Fords do. This are "before" photos.

It's just one of those things that will bug you if you don't as you only do it once.
