Bought one advertised as NOS but shouldn't I be able to rotate the vane manually? Uh-Oh, seems to be stuck. Now what? :confused:

Have you verified the accelerator pump is functioning properly by peering down the throats of the center carb and seeing streams of gas as you advance the gas pedal linkage from the rest position?

I had the same issue on my '55 Vic...until the Holley stock (supposedly) main jets were replaced with the next larger ones. Ran fine after that.

I have a plastic topped governor tagged with FoMoCo P/N 8M 6919. The cap is embossed with Bendix Products Div. What does this fit? Seems different than a Borg Warner item.

Zoegrant, Sorry the wire suggestion did not work...I was merely trying to understand why there was only 4.3 volts at the solenoid instead of 6 volts.

Sounds like a weak electrical grounding. Try running a temporary ground wire to the case of the solenoid.
