What many don't realize that by increasing the model A engines horsepower you raise its efficiency,it run cooler and gets better fuel economy than stock..many issues people have with their stock...

Adaptive dwell is one of the advantages of electronic ignition consistent coil soak yields consistent voltage regardless of gap.With manual timing its moot ,doesnt matter how hot or cold the spark is...

The same caveats apply to the kettering system,proper connections are critical to both,so is turning the key off.The problem with points is they degrade slowly,often unnoticed loss of power as dwell...

I use tall phosphate coated grade 8 main nuts with loctite..found them at a hardware surplus shop..I get a ration of crap on here for using high heat nylock nuts...

Keep in mind why the front pulley failed in the first place,and why vendors sell two piece ones..they will work loose from vibration,in fact crack and fly apart..

Maybe not in St Cloud,but in Sacramento driving a stock model a is dicey,if you can't keep up with the flow of traffic either on the arterials or the freeways your experience will be unpleasant.
