Re: 52 Flathead crankshaft end play

Re the adaptor bush.
If you can find someone with a lathe just get it skimmed down enough to clear the area that is fouling.
if no lathe available just grind it down carefully. The face that is...

Re: Electrical verification 32 Ford

Does the generator need polarising? When I did my first start on my 32 I had a big draw on the ammeter. I polarised the generator and it was ok after that and charged normally. I can't explain what...

Re: 1932 The Deuce, Dually, Dump Truck

That's great. Sometimes the paperwork can be a nightmare so getting that squared away is a win.

Re: Disc Brakes V Bendix Brakes-Which performs best??

The original question was which is better. Disk brakes are better.
Is a dual master better than a single? Yes if it is a factory designed unit with all the built in extra travel available at the...

Hello! welcome to this week's update from Mart's garage.
This week I invited my daughter Katy to make an appeal on behalf of the charity she is supporting. She is running the London Marathon in...

Re: Disc Brakes V Bendix Brakes-Which performs best??

I'd say stick with what you have and make sure they are in good condition. After all, the brakes you have are used as an upgrade on earlier models. A booster won't make them work any better, just...

Re: Mart's 32 sedan. Troubleshooting misfire and overheating.

The cooling fan is a slimline electrical unit that just fits between the rad and the grille. I have a switch for it on the dash.

Re: 1932 Roadster Frame Rail Sag

I think it would take more force that you would get from the weight of the car.
I think you need to remove the axle and fabricate a heavy hook that can latch around that lower rail and then using a...

Re: Mart's 32 sedan. Troubleshooting misfire and overheating.

I think they are 75 deg C or 160Deg F.

I can't see any markings. They are a pair I previously ran in my roadster before I swapped in the French motor.

Thanks for watching and commenting.

I just looked and the generator on the 41 pickup is screwed on like you say, but there is no provision for a circlip. I have thought about it and the direction...

Re: 1935 NORS brake drums

Is it a "heavy" (32) axle I can't really see. What says it is not a 35 axle?

Re: 49 F1 Brake issue

Good catch rich B. It's good when the solution is simple. This is a good illustration of the power of a photograph. Without that we would all be going down the overly thick lining route.

Mart's 32 sedan. Troubleshooting misfire and overheating.

Hello. In my last video I had a persistent misfire. I also had loss of coolant which lead to boiling up. In this video I show how I went about finding the causes and remedying the situation.

Re: 40-2454 Pedal Pad Evolution

The brake pedal was slowly unscrewing on my newly built 32. (converted to pipe threads). It gave the impression that the brakes were getting better as the pedal was higher. Until it wobbled as it was...

I oiled a speedo cable once, and it did not help. I then greased it and it did help. I think the grease acts as a damper of sorts and damps down the fast/slow action.
The fast/slow action is...

Re: Front brake drum won't come off 49 F1

JT, it might be worth keeping all your brake related questions on the original thread. I have already posted similar answers to above on that thread.
