Re: Rear Main Leak Bear with me

Re: Shut Off Valve Leaking

Replaced mine a few days ago with one from Smith & Jones. Easy fix and smooth on off now. I drained the tank by running most of the fuel out and emptying the sediment bowl and then draining out the...

Re: Color of the engine

I would guess that's true. Don't know how Fed EX got it here from the distributor but it got here and I'm happy. The Ford engine green that I purchased from Mac's in spray cans is supposed to be...

Re: Adjustment Needle Driver

Hang in there aquadave. From one newbie to another, it takes a while to get your feet wet here and become acquainted with veteran Model A folks that have lots of information.

Re: Gas shutoff valve

Thank you guys for the suggestions here. Just one more question. What's a pencil filter? Is it a filter in the shutoff valve or in the tank?

I assumed that's the way it would have to be done. Just wanted to get any kind of constructive ideas of the different approaches you guys have taken. Thanks Gerry

Re: Gas shutoff valve

Chap turning the car upside down is out of the question. My wife won't come out to the shop to help. I'll take your advice and just drain the tank. Just didn't look forward to handling that much...

Gas shutoff valve

Dumb question I'm sure but does anyone know how to replace the gas shutoff
valve under the dash on the 30 A without draining the fuel tank? It appears to me that is the only way. If someone has a...

Re: Color of the engine

Mac's Antique Auto Parts sells the original green engine paint in spray bombs. I used it and the finish turned out great.

70 heading swiftly to 71. Got my first A a little over a year ago. Never realized how much fun I was missing. Frustrating at times but fun

Re: New distributor skips a beat

It does/did Farrell. This evening I disassembled the Tilly carb again and checked the float and readjusted it. I also found that the two halves did not seat together very good (warpage). After...

Re: Smith & Jones

Don they seem to be a good bunch of guys to deal with. Not arguing that. Do you deal with them locally or through their web site? As I said before they send their payment dealings through a web site...

Re: New distributor skips a beat

Going to try the MMO for sure. Have adjusted the air intake jet to the one and a half turns out. Other than that I don't see any other adjustment on the carb except the throttle adjustment.

Re: Smith & Jones
