Re: pointless ignition

That sounds interesting. Aren't there four pins on a HEI unit? Do you have a wiring diagram, photo, or more details?

What do you see that leads you to think it is a 292?

The chart in this link shows the manifold to be from a '55 or '56 272" engine.

Re: Overdrive experts I need some help.

The governor is working fine, it grounds the relay to send power to the solenoid. 6V systems are sensitive to low voltage. First make sure your battery and charging system are working properly. Older...

Re: 55 Ford station wagon parking brake info.

If you google the part number you will/might find other vendors and pricing, especially shipping prices.

Re: Twin post lift

I don't have a two-post lift but it doesn't seem that it would have the precise up/down control that a cherry picker does. And you can move the cherry picker back/forward. With a lift you would need...

Re: Vapor Lock ...???

The tee is on the pressure side of the fuel pump so the line is under pressure and the return line has a positive flow back to tank. The return line is separate and has nothing to do with the fuel...

Re: Vapor Lock ...???

The straight-thru part of the tee remains open, one side to the fuel pump, the other to the carb. The remaining side is closed up and drilled small and goes back to the tank. The idea is to have...

Re: Engine going to Flathead City

If you are referring to my post, I wasn't defending Flathead City. Someone asked about an update and I found the post as an answer. It looks like FredB hasn't been on here since 6/26 to respond. This...

Re: Need help Identifying trunk lids year

That is a 1938 trunk handle on photo #1. It would be from a sedan, not a coupe.

Re: 1940 Ford P/U Front Spring Shackle Bushing removal

The shackle stud runs through an asbestos/rubber or some such fabric. You run the drill bit beside the stud and through the bushing. I have heard of some who heat the bushing until it is soft and...

I haven't seen one. The grill reminds me of the Lincolns of that era.

Re: 1940 Ford P/U Front Spring Shackle Bushing removal

After you get the spring safely disconnected, this is what I do: I run a drill bit through the bushing parallel to the shackle stud. Do this all around the stud to chew up the bushing material. Then...

Re: Headlight Aiming

I read it. I missed anything about AERO. It said it is about the aiming for driving on different sides of the road in different countries. Until it got into modern headlights and options.

Re: Headlight Aiming

It seems to me that if there was a difference they would be listed as for left and right side of the car. IMHO for sealed beam cars it is all in the aiming of the bulb. The ditch side bulb is aimed...
