Re: Help, Paint Application Problems

I have never used that product but my first thought is contamination on the tack rag. Where do you store it when not in use?

Yes a manual solenoid, no separate one yet. Do not engage the starter anymore than you have to at this point because if it is spinning too fast it could chip a flywheel tooth.

Re: Transmission Reassembly

I am having trouble getting the throwout bearing off of the hub. It almost seems like it is one piece. Could you use a multidisk throwout on a single disk trans?

Re: Sticking Starter Switch

You are right about the grommet being worn or missing altogether. The switch rod has natural up and down play but that is not noticeable if you have a grommet. When you put a new one, you will have...

Re: Sticking Starter Switch

A cut off switch is not necessary if everything is up to date and working properly. If things have not been touched in years then it might not be a bad idea. Rebuild the starter switch. I rebuild...

Re: Transmission Issues

As much as I don't want to cough up the money, I know sooner or later I have to do it. I am going to inspect the gears again tomorrow and make a determination.

Another funny thing is that when...

Re: Transmission Issues

Getting together some people to help take the trans out to replace the disk, pressure plate, and throwout bearing. Hopefully only a few days of work. I will keep you all updated.

Re: Horn Rod Reassembly in Column

Re: Engine Oil consumption

Drip on the transmission plug is normal if it is motor oil as the motor oil makes its way to the radius ball to lubricate it.

Mine doesn't have ANY of the rattlers of the bushing which is probably why it rattles and maybe why the horn goes off unexpectedly.
