Re: 1941 Super Deluxe convertible / Pricing question

Alan, reminds me of the situation with the F150 and the car lines a few years back. The F150 was CAFE negative so they needed to sell Focus and Fusions to offset those numbers and not get fined from...

Re: 1942 Ford deluxe coupe project

Flatford8, not really sure on the paint just yet. The Upholstery material should be in next month and that's the next step. When that's done I'll see where I'm at on the body. My weakness is I like...

Re: '46 Will Not Re-Start

Mountain Dew, you should be good to go when you get the coil back from Skip. If the resistor is in place and working you should be fine. When you get the coil back one terminal will be marked DIST...

Re: '46 Will Not Re-Start

Mountain Dew, did you check to see if there is a resistor next to the circuit breaker on the inside firewall? It should be located on the the driver's side inside firewall. Should be a wire coming...

Re: 1942 Ford deluxe coupe project

RKS.PA, Funny you mentioned the oil in the fan. Yesterday after spending most of a day pounding out the dent in the roof (I had help, thank God!) I started the car and had a chirp from the front of...

Re: '46 Will Not Re-Start

Can't answer your first question but sending the coil and distributor to Skip was a good move. He did the coil on my 42 Ford with a 59 A-B engine. He's really quick on turn around in my experience....

Re: '46 Will Not Re-Start

Mountain Dew, I can't say for sure on the IC9 coil. I see on the NAPA website they recommend the IC7 coil though. Listed I think for around $25.

Been busy at the steam show with Chris (sugarmaker) and my 45th class reunion. Last night I stopped at Chris's garage to drop a few things off. Hit the gas pedal once, pulled the choke, hit the...

Re: '46 Will Not Re-Start

My 48 is wired bypassing the resistor on the panel under the dash that also has a circuit breaker. I'm using an IC7 Napa coil that has an internal resistor. If you are using a stock coil there should...

Re: '46 Will Not Re-Start

Question, when you swapped coils are you swapping an original style coil (bakelight , rectangular Coil) or is it using a round modern style coil? Agree with Kube's recommendation for Skip Haney and...

Re: 1942 Ford deluxe coupe project

RKS.PA, fan is oiled. Over the winter I rebuilt it using a NOS bearing, etc. that I've had for years. Charlie, I've known Mark for a number of years. Ran into him at Hershey last year.

Re: 1942 Ford deluxe coupe project

Re: 1942 Ford deluxe coupe project

I saw your email this morning. In total agreement. In the next day or so we'll check it. I'm guessing a chunk of the 80 year old fuel line decided that would be a nice place to move to! Why I didn't...

Re: 1942 Ford deluxe coupe project
