Re: Bratton's Antique Auto Parts

I just bought an Optima Red Top hold down from Bratton's - received notice of shipment ridiculously fast and had the part two days later.

I think this is the fastest any A specialty shop has ever...

Re: Widowmaker

I had heard about these incidents but assumed they were few and far between. Based on the small sampling we have here, this is NOT uncommon.

Very useful cautionary advice. Not just for our own...

Re: New 28 ratster owners here

@Pantodd74

Just do a password recovery and get logged back in on the HAMB.

From the description as a "60's survivor" I don't think it's a rat rod, so you don't need to call it that. It's a '28...

Re: Reports on Burtz new engines

Thank you Dave - this is very helpful.

Do you have an idea of how much horsepower you're making with the Serr + 97?

Re: Reports on Burtz new engines

Dave - thank you for this info! I am considering a single 97 for mine.

Do you mind also telling me which manifold you are using for the single? ...and did you have to modify it to get it to fit...

Re: BAT-crazy prices and a 29 phaeton

Stickshift is probably right on this one. If you read the comments on that particular sale, you will see an unusual amount of supportive and often comical engagement from the seller. Much more than...

Re: Tight Fit in My 1929 Roadster

I'm 6'3" and 200 lbs w/ '29 Roadster.

They key for me is to slide in backwards, with legs towards the running board, swing the legs around under the wheel and I'm in. That said, based on the...

Gary@AAAA Transmissions In Fort Worth will rebuild and offers a conversion kit, but you have to supply the transmission.

Mine should be back home early January. I'll document the install and...

Re: Bring A Trailer "No Reserve"

Ronn - I'd trust your sense of valuation better than mine. I paid more for my '29 Roadster and it's a twenty footer with no top or top hardware. ...but then again it also had full documentation for...

Re: Bring A Trailer "No Reserve"

I would be very weary of trying to sell a car like ours on Bring A Trailer.

You have to consider the audience. The cars that draw the most attention are typically Porsches, Ferraris and more...

At the very least it solves the mystery as to whether or not the adapter is going need to some holes drilled. Definitely does - and that makes sense.

...and indeed,...
