Re: Desparate - Need Help the worst sort of way (sorry not Ford related)

This might be worth a try. There is a Willy’s- Jeep parts house and salvage in Cazadero Ca. You can look them up online. Been there myself but do not remember the name. Big place with lots of donors....

Re: another FNG (gal)

That’s a real nice truck you have there. Your fenders look to be in real good shape. At their age, most of the ones I have seen have been fixed by someone. I will have to agree with the others, get...

Re: A rainey night in Olga

Thanks for the video tour of your shop! I have admired your woodie project since it was a work in progress. Now I am suffering a case of workshop envy. The music track had me thinking of Reno and...

Re: 35-37 ford pickup door weatherstrip

Mine still has the wind lace, such as it is. Would like to find a source for some new material. Small dia. cord wrapped in cloth with flap of material for mounting.

Re: ‘34 kick panel material

I picked up on this thread in the beginning. I had tried to find the original material door cards and kick panels. The fiberglass/ plastic ones did not work for me. Kube’s post that mentioned Hobby...

Re: 36 pickup rear view mirror location

As stated previously here, trucks from 36’ were not equipped with an interior rear view mirror. I too thought of installing one when I first started driving mine. Even went as far as to find one at a...

Re: Bolt remover socket

I have and have used extractor sockets. I would say they have a 50% success rate with me. Be sure to use all the tried and true methods first. Heat would be my first attempt, striking the bolt head...

Re: What kind of jack do you carry

I use a crappy old 2 1/2T bottle jack and a couple of scraps of 2X12s. An old broom stick works for a handle. No rocket science here. Be sure to loosen the lug nuts before lifting and you’re good.

Re: Inductive tach

So I am curious, how accurate is “reasonably accurate”. Were you able to verify your readings with another source? Do you think attaching the sensor on the #1 cylinder would make a difference? They...

Re: 37' Door seal material

TJ, thanks for the reply. I had checked Mac’s earlier, but looked again in case I missed it. They have a lot of different wind laces and seals, but not the one for the door. The search goes on....

37' Door seal material

With all thats going on in the world, I find myself looking for projects to pass the time. I would like to replace the door seal material on my 37' truck cab. Maybe I don't have the correct term to...

Re: Whats the secret to removing the oil filter?

Residual oil in the canister and a snug fit can make for a sort of suction when trying to lift out the filter. Give it a steady, strong pull and it should come out of there. Happens sometimes. Be...

Re: Cranckcase blow by and how to handle the stank

The road draft tube on an 8BA is two pieces. An upper and lower which takes gases well behind the front axle. Had similar problem because I didn’t have the lower piece. Found some 2” heater tubing...

Re: K.R.Wilson box refinishing

If you are or know someone who is a wood worker, try the "Good Stuff". You will need to go to a real lumber yard or wood working store to find it. I've never seen it at the big box stores. It's an...

Re: 39 Pickup door windows

The 37 cab on my truck has these. I have heard them refered to as "smokers" windows. I guess you could say they help with ventilation. But so does the tilt out windshield and cowl vent. Not sure how...

Re: Best sounding muffler ?

I used two 24" glass packs. Like 2manycars, I went with 1 3/4" dual pipes. Nice tone right from the start, they get better with age.

Re: Road trip to Model A Days this a.m. pics

Thanks for sharing! You have a beautiful truck there. Gives me an idea what mine might have looked like 75 or so years ago.
