Re: No nut manifold clamp

Using a socket and a ratchet on a no nut clamp should be easier than having to use two pieces when a bolt and NUT is used . Though I have installed a lot of original exhaust manifold clamps , it...

Re: ROTELLA 15W 40 Oil

Oil certainly doesn't thicken when warm-hot . Thinner oil does flow better than thick oil . Fifteen is the low number and hence the thinner of the two numbers used in a 15W40 multi viscosity oil ....

Re: ROTELLA 15W 40 Oil

Re: Generator Charging

Yes , the generator can only put out so much . Ten amps maximum charge is all that is needed for a 12 volt conversion when using the twelve volt Fun Projects voltage regulator . I use the 35-35w...

Re: Generator Charging

I agree with Badpuppy in post number 4 . Twelve volt components require about half the amps that six volt components require . That takes a load off the generator . The generator will run much cooler...

Re: Door drop

I'm a retired body man and I often used the same method to raise sagging doors When I worked at Chevrolet dealerships . I usually made this adjustment without the owner present . Most don't realize...

Re: ROTELLA 15W 40 Oil

Check the gaps at the rotor tip on all contacts in the distributor cap body . A lot of times the gaps will be all over the place in some reproduction distributor caps . Ford recommended a...

Re: cracked cyl head

Spark occurs as the points open . Wear on the lifting block on the points causes the point gap to decrease . Too little gap causes the points to open later and slightly retards timing . I always set...

Re: cracked cyl head

I would also check the water jacket on the deck of the block .

The crack could have been caused from overheating . I would also look at timing and points gap as a possible cause . Points gap can...

Re: Oversize and Undersize Aluminum Cam Gears

I also run some of Dans bronze gears with his name on them . Dans gears are most likely the best timing gears available . I've never had a problem of any kind with Dans gears .
