I had the same problem so I just took the starter out and it turn out it was the starter drive. Put in another one in and been ok since (4 months)

Glenn, Sorry one last question. So any rear drum/hub from 1940 - 48 car will fit my 47 car as long as there are inner or outer match set ?

what is the .600 measurement for ? Where I ream out the studs could you tell me the shoulder and bolt size also the length I need. I can not seem to get those measurements for me to buy. Thanks Moe

I want to remove the hubs from my extra 2 front drums and use these drums to install the rear hubs into these 2 front drums. So I can mount them on the rear wheels. Will I still need longer studs ?

Hi Krylon32, I have 2 really good front drums but I need 2 rear drum/hub.
Can I ream out my no good hubs and install them in my other really good set of drums ? Can I buy the correct longer studs...

cas3 the wire coming from the small post on the solenoid to coil that wire is connected to the + or - post on the coil ?

Koates, I have a 2 small post solenoid, I was told to hook a wire to the post on the right marked ( I ) and the other end to the coil. Is this correct ?

I did redo all my connections so they were clean and tight but just does not turn over like it should. I thought I would add a diode to help it.
