After initially reading this thread I confirmed both sidemounts on my "A" phaeton and my 33 V8 pickup have the valve stems at the top, HOWEVER the pickup spare was off one position. It is now...

I wonder if any modern car manufacturers have similar criteria for autos coming off the container ships from China ??
