Sorry for not responding. Yes it’s a aftermarket tanks as the original was horribly rusted after 30+ years. Branded, what you described is exactly my issue.

I found a Ford NOS fuel sending unit for a 1948 Ford panel truck on eBay. Figured the actual sending unit base would work and I would just modify the float arm to work with my 48 Tudor sedan. Not so...

RalphM, I stay away from the freeways or highly congested areas as well. Luckily I know the back roads to get where I am going haha

Thanks for clarifying 4dFord. I had been told by others it was a plug with no threads which didn’t seem logical but wasn’t sure. Just ordered the wrench off eBay as well

I took my original steering wheel and refinished it. 95% of this car is all original to this car. If not original, it is period correct...

All, given a new bezel for my 48 Ford tudor sedan ignition switch is unavailable and I do not have any way to finish of the switch on the column, i thought I would see what others have done or used...
