Rear Motor Mount Safety Wire

Pictures of original safety wire. It is from a rusty '30 Tudor that the odometer showed 30,000 miles.

Re: Touring with other Model A's - How does your club communicate

There is some feedback but squelch most of it. Also, a resistor coil wire does wonders. I have cb’s in all 4 cars. Used them for over 40 years.

Just tried Zello in my TS. Found that at 45, couldn’t hear my wife talk. Going back to cb’s.

Re: 1931 right hand side tailamp with license plate lamp

Page 586 talks about the RH tail light but I have never found a part number for the bracket in the US parts books. How about our friends in Australia or New Zealand, is there a part number in the RH...

Re: Model A Roadster/Pheaton Security

When we travel in the roadster, we take most everything visible in the passenger compartment into the motel at night. The cb radio is covered with a black towel and glancing in, you can't see it in...

Re: Replacing A connecting rod in place

I have done it. Used battery terminal pliers to pull the wrist pin out far enough to remove the rod. Engine went another 3,000 miles and was rebuilt for reasons other than rods.

It is not...

5Z tool collectors

I have a few that I use and found this one (1901) along with a lot of 3Z tools. Those will go to my son since he has the T. I believe the 1901 must be pretty rare. Never have seen one before. Also...

Re: Centering a Model A Crank, in a Block !

Along with my normal Kwik Way alignment jigs I came up with this set of jigs to make sure the cam to crank is correct. Only have found one block out of many that the Kwik Way jigs were off but no...

This is what I've used on my cars. Of course if you get one it probably will need to be rebuilt. Can spend a lot of money. They do look nice.

Re: Strange Engine Knock -> Crank Pulley

You have to make sure the slot in the pulley isn't too small to accept the key. Also make sure the slot is deep enough. If it has to be forced over the key it will probably crack the pulley.

Re: My take on KRW A371

It does clamp around a cam lobe. Just a little hard to see. The first time I tried, it was around the bearing and that didnít work.

Re: My take on KRW A371

It was a little work but it started a few years ago. Put hinges on the 2 pieces of channel iron and poured babbitt around a camshaft bearing. Thought that would work but it just made a bearing....

My take on KRW A371

Finally poured some babbitt to make a tool to hold the camshaft when putting on the timing gear. Not too clean but is very functional. Pictures attached.

Re: Rebuilt B engine has no power dilema

Does the carb open all the way?

When you pull the spark lever down are you getting full advance?

I am assuming the timing marks were lined up when assembling the engine.

Just some thoughts.
