Re: Installing Roof

If the headliner is in good shape and you are not going to replace it, you can put the top on. If the headliner is going to be replaced, you should do that before putting the top on.

Re: Were T's black only?

Drying time may have been part of it, but have read that might not be true. Other colors may have dried just as fast. A big part of it was how Ford painted the bodies. Ford flowed the paint on not...

Re: emergency brake backing plate removal

You will find it easiest to drop the radius rod to get the backing plate off. Are you sure you have the 4 bolts out? I still say give it a tap side to side or try a pry bar to see if you can pop it...

Re: Shopping list for new A

Never have liked creepers, I pull the wrench one way and the creeper goes the other. Easier to just lay on the floor and get in a position that is easy to work from, often that is not flat on my...

Re: 1925 Model T fordor top

The top on the closed car isn't canvas. Many of the parts suppliers carry the replacement top material in kits. For example; https://www.modeltford.com/item/RCK231.aspx

Re: emergency brake backing plate removal

If you are just removing the parking brake carrier, would not matter if the radius rods are in the way. The key would stop it from coming out or is just stuck. Try tapping side to side and see it...

Re: Ford Parts Service pin?

If you have not, try posting on the other V8 forums. There is the possibility that it was something done thru one of the branches rather then factory as part of a promotion.

Re: Roadster Door Hinge Screws

If you got the screws from a reputable supplier and for the correct year, make sure the holes were not re-tapped for different thread or cross threaded. If you have the old ones that came out, check...

Re: AA Truck wire wheel hubcaps

Great idea! Looks a lot better then an empty hole.
While the early AA wire wheel caps are rare, try finding the caps for the Lincoln style wire wheels used on the ambulances (for example) that were...

Re: Brake shoes

There is more then one product put out under the WD label then WD-40. Besides, WD-40 would keep the water off the lining! :)

Re: Zenith Carb Questions

I glass bead the cast iron carb bodies all the time. All that is needed is a good cleaning and air pressure to blow the passages out when done. Brass plated parts may be one thing, but the brass...

Re: Remove this bolt?

What bolt is it, picture is not showing. WD-40 is not a penetrating oil, unless you buy their brand of penetrating oil. It's a water displacement (WD)/lube.

Re: Brake shoe cores

Even for free, the holes may be worn out and might only be good for the scrap bin. Then add onto that, if they have bonded lining, cost/work jumps quite a bit to remove lining. The last time I...

I wonder if the springs inside are broken or collapsed? Maybe if they are making enough noise that you can hear them over the engine when driving, it is time to rebuild or replace the hood hooks. Or...
