Re: Interest in new restoration project thread?

Re: 46 crab dist tune/replace

There is a flathead engine builder in Saskatchewan or Ontario. You can find him on kijiji. His ads are listed with engines for sale or build to suite. I think I found him in the kijiji car parts ads...

Re: timing

You should be able to remove the bolt and plate with hash marks completely to clean it up, then reinstall. The internals will stay in place and shouldn't move as there is resistance on them. Then you...

Re: 39 ford waterpumps

I tried to remove mine without knowing about the hidden bolt, I stopped myself just short of prying it and waited till I pulled the engine, then spotted it....

Re: '38 headlights switch/tube

Your welcome.

Re: '38 headlights switch/tube

I removed that to get up in there, trying to see what's loose.

I ended up unsoldering the horn wire. 4 little tabs loose hidden beneath.

Re: '38 headlights switch/tube

This has no relation to the spring and clip. How is the tube attached to the steering wheel switch ring? With the horn wire running thru the tube, I can't tell how the tube attaches to the steering...

'38 headlights switch/tube

The light switch ring is loose on the tube. How was this affixed from factory? Is it just the tension of the horn wire that holds the switch ring to the tube or is the brass piece supposed to be...

Re: Choke/throttle rods set up

Is this the round "NUT" you are referencing? If so, there is not 2 locking positions. 1st position allows the T end of the shaft to pass thru and the 2nd position locks it in place. There should be a...

Re: Choke/throttle rods set up

When is the last time that carb was rebuilt or saw any attention? Maybe it's just carb problems, nothing to do with the choke and throttle rods?

Maybe try one of your known working carbs from...
